Natural Silk fibres have a triangular structure which reflect light and absorb colour in a unique way.

In ‘Silk Works’ I have enjoyed exploring the language of silk. Using machine embroidery on a combination of hand painted silken fabrics along with the vibrant colours and patterns of recycled Sari Silks has given lots of scope for mixing of colours and effects

Inspiration  - On a first visit to Goa some 20 years ago the hotel maids would arrive for work immaculately dressed in the most exquisite saris. To take such pride in themselves, their appearance and the their job was humbling and the vibrancy of the colours are never forgotten
