Like many of my generation 'making' was more of a necessity than a joy. From the running up of a Summer frock to the knitting of a school cardigan whilst there was a sense of achievement it was still to some extent a bit of a chore. Although there was some fun in buying a market remnant to make a very small mini-skirt to wear that same evening. Embroidery in those day was not exactly enthralling as it often amounted to tablecloth with pansies or lazy daisies worked from a transfer pattern
To discover actual TEXTILE ART in later life has been a great revelation to me. Starting with a love of fabric, colour and texture the scope for ones creativity is boundless. From the spark of an idea, the planning of how to develop the process to the finished result - not always quite as anticipated - there is undoubtedly JOY in the making.
This website is a reflection of some of the ideas that have been part of my journey in the last 15 years which I hope you will find interesting and maybe even a little inspiring
